International Meeting on Inclusive Education | Knowledge Exchange and Discussions on the Current State of Inclusive Education in Sub-Sahara Africa

The International Sharing Meeting on Inclusive Education kicked off today. Hosted by MIET AFRICA, this annual event aims to share the highlights, challenges and good practices and approaches to Inclusive Education. MIET AFRICA, in partnership with German inclusive education support NGO, africa action Duetschland (aaD) and the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education has been implementing education support projects in the uThukela (2016-2021) and uMgungundlovu (2019-2021) districts under the banner of aaD’s “Inclusive Education in Action worldwide experiences” project, funded by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Every year, the aaD convenes an international sharing meeting of the international partner organisations to share learning but due to COVID-19 restrictions on travel and face-to-face engagement, the meeting planned for 2020 could not take place. This year, the meeting will be a webinar-based and will take place between 25 to 29 October. MIET AFRICA will host the meeting and is assisting aaD in coordinating the meeting’s activities.
