September 2013–September 2014
In 2013, MIET AFRICA was sub-contracted by the Small Projects Foundation to implement Bright Futures in Mozambique. The project targeted girl children between the ages of 12 and 16, and aimed to empower them to complete their schooling by: (i) providing training on puberty and sexual and reproductive health, (ii) supporting the girls to develop a vision of their future, and (iii) creating Bright Futures Clubs in schools. It also taught entrepreneurial and financial skills, as well as employability, through group learning and action research.
Bright Futures was funded by Barclays Bank.
