About the course
This course aims to assist teachers to implement the Policy on Screening, Identification, Assessment and Support (SIAS) at their schools.
Course outline
The course consists of the following modules:
Module 1: Introducing the Policy on Screening, Identification, Assessment and Support (SIAS)
Module 2: Level and nature of support
Module 3: The process of Screening, Identification, Assessment and Support (SIAS)
Module 4: Role functions and responsibilities
Module 5: SIAS in the classroom: screening and identifying barriers
Module 6: SIAS in the classroom: curriculum support
Module 7: Implementing SIAS at school level: SNA1 and SNA2
Requirements for achieving 15 Professional Development Points:
- Full attendance at every session
- Submission of 3 assignments: Participants are required to complete 3 assessment tasks where they apply what they have learnt in the course to practice. It is necessary to receive a ‘Competent’ rating for all 3 tasks.
Course delivery
The course is delivered over 5 one-day sessions. The sessions should be at least a week apart.
